Dubai-style chocolate cake recalled over allergy risk
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has recalled a Dubai-style chocolate cake due to the risk of allergy.
East Midlands Foods Limited recalled the Oslo Arrivo Pistachio Cream Dubai Cake due to the 40g bars’ allergens not being labelled in English.
The product contains eggs, gluten (wheat), milk, nuts (pistachios) and soya.
This makes it a potential health risk for shoppers with an allergy to eggs and/or an allergy or intolerance to gluten (wheat) or those with coeliac disease, and/or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to nuts (pistachios) and/or an allergy to soya, said the FSA.
The product may also contain nuts (almonds and/or hazelnuts), peanuts and sulphites, making it a posible risk for customers who are allergic to them.

East Midlands Foods has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their members about the recall.
Additionally, the company has issued a point-of-sale notice to its shoppers.
The notices explain to customers why the product has been recalled and tell them what to do if they have purchased the cakes.
Shoppers with an allergy or intolerance to the allergens listed have been advised to return the product to where it was purchased for a full refund.
Dubai-style chocolate has become increasingly popular with UK consumers.
In March, Lidl set out to sell its own version of Dubai-Style Chocolate bars through TikTok Shop, following the success of its first product launch on the platform.
Lindt also tapped into the viral ‘Dubai chocolate’ TikTok trend in December, with its own take on the pistachio bar.
