M&S meal deals affected by ongoing cyber turmoil
The availability of some Marks and Spencer (M&S) meal deal offers has been hampered by the fallout from its ongoing cyber attack.
The cyber incident, which first occurred three weeks ago, has had a knock-on effect on the retailer’s operations, causing stock availability issues and forcing M&S to limit its lunchtime meal deal offers.
The high street retailer has notified shoppers in areas which have been impacted. The business’s store network includes high-traffic areas such as airports, train stations, and petrol stations.
Signs at the Victoria Station branch read: “Due to availability issues, we are temporarily unable to fulfil this meal deal. Please bear with us while we work through this.”

M&S meal deals consist of several options, including a sandwich, salad, sushi or a wrap, paired with a snack and a drink.
A spokesperson for M&S told Retail Gazette: “Customers can still buy meal deals in our rail station stores but there are pockets of limited availability for some items. We are working hard to continue getting our products into stores.”
It is the latest issue to occur for the high street giant following its cyber breach..
The attack, linked to hacking group Scattered Spider, has wreaked havoc for M&S, with the disruption seeing work from home staff locked out of internal systems, warehouse workers turned away, suspension of online orders and click and collect, stock limitations and over £700m wiped off its market value in under a week.
However, M&S is not the only retailer to fall victim to an cyber attack, with Co-op last week revealing it had too suffered a breach, thought to have involved customer and member’s personal data.
