Asda has completed a £2m transformation of its Pilsworth store in Bury, marking its largest single-store investment in several years.
Work on the 61,000sq ft site began earlier this year, with several significant improvements, including a “fresh modern” look with new feature lighting and updated signage.

A consolidated food hall has also been created, which the supermarket giant said simplifies the layout of the shop floor and makes it easier for customers to find what they need.

The produce section now features new low-level chilled units, and a dedicated wine and spirits zone has been added. Enhancements have also been made to modernise the George and General Merchandise departments.

The store’s café is also the first to be transformed into the new ‘Asda Kitchen’, as part of a company-wide programme to “reinvigorate” the grocers cafés.
According to the retailer, it offers “a modern dining experience with a coffee shop atmosphere”.

The new menu includes favourites as well as a variety of healthier options. Customers will be able order via a manned till, a kiosk, or a QR code to have their food delivered to their table.

Asda Pilsworth general store manager Dan Grindrod said: “After months of hard work from all involved, we’re excited to welcome the local community into our newly upgraded Pilsworth store. This investment has enabled us to create a modern shopping environment that makes it easier for the customers we serve to find the products and value they’ve come to expect from Asda.”
Asda recently announced that the Pilsworth store would be the first to trial its Rewards Digital Sampling Vending Machine. Customers can try newly launched products from the supermarkets branded partners by scanning their Rewards ID at the machine.

not exactly wowed. not sure what ASDA could do at the moment to get me through the door.
Asda would do nothing to entice me to shop in there stores. As I am a retired colleague of Tesco with a combined colleague discount and Clubcard. Which I see as a benefit and reward for working for Tesco for 35 (1980-2015) years.
