Nisa Retail managing director Peter Batt and commercial director Ayaz Alam are set to leave the business.

According to The Grocer, it is understood that the convenience retailer, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Co-operative, will see Co-op managing director for B2B and growth Jerome Saint-Marc overseeing day-to-day operations, while Co-op commercial director Sinead Bell will manage the company’s commercial team alongside her current responsibilities before new appointments are made.

It is understood that staff were made aware of the changes in an email last Friday (20 December).

Batt has been MD since September 2022 and previously spent seven and a half years as divisional MD at the Co-op, after a nearly eight year stint at Sainsbury’s.

Alam has been commercial director for the past six years and previously held numerous senior trading roles at Asda.

It comes as earlier this year, Nisa poached One Stop Stores’ national operations manager as its new head of retail to ramp up its expansion.

Taranjit Singh Dhillon joined the businesses retail and sales leadership team on 9 September, and reports into Nisa’s recently appointed director of sales and retail, ex-Post Office retail transformation director Katie Secretan.
