Morrisons brings back 19p veg sale this Easter

Morrisons is bringing back the 19p vegetable sale that it offered in the run up to Christmas as it looks to help shoppers save over Easter weekend.

From today (25 March), traditional roast dinner veg, including carrots, parsnips, kale and whole swede will be on offer for 19p each, Manchester Evening News reported.

Morrisons is also cutting prices across other Easter dinner staples including a whole leg of lamb, which is down from £13 to £6.49 for More Card holders.

The supermarket’s loyalty members can also get 50% off British topside and silverside beef joints at £5.99, a 100% British pork leg for £3.49 down from £7, and a whole British salmon for £7.99 down from £13.50.

Morrisons chief customer and marketing officer Rachel Eyre said: “This Easter we’re doing even more to offer our customers the very best of British fare, by cutting the price on many dinner table favourites, including prime roasting joints and the freshest seasonal vegetables for a great value celebration.”

It comes as discounters Aldi and Lidl are gearing up for the “biggest Easter yet”.

Aldi is predicting sales of around 20 million hot cross buns and 8.6m of its own-label chocolate eggs, while Lidl is anticipating that more than 2,000 shoppers per minute will walk through its doors on Saturday 30 March.
