The Co-op has bolstered its board with the appointment of former Ocado Solutions CEO Luke Jensen, as the convenience retailer confirmed that new chair Debbie White formally replaced Allan Leighton as chair today.
Jensen, who was previously group development director at Sainsbury’s, is currently executive chair of Permira-backed Asian on-the-go food provider Hana Group.
He stepped down from Ocado last year after a six year stint, during which he helped to build the business globally, including a raft of international tie ups.

Jensen will join The Co-op board next month at the same time that Leighton stands down as he reaches the end of his nine-year term.
The Co-op has also hired Moni Mannings to its board. Ex-solicitor Mannings, who was partner at a number of global law firms including Olswang, also sits on the board of Land Securities, Easyjet and Hargreaves Lansdown.
Mannings and Jensen succeed Sir Christopher Kelly and Stevie Spring, both of whom reach the end of their nine-year terms this year.
