Tesco customers to receive £80m in Clubcard vouchers this month

Tesco customers are set to receive extra reward statements this August, with nearly £80m-worth Clubcard vouchers being sent out as part of the supermarket’s quarterly statements.

The vouchers will arrive by 12th August – in time to help customers celebrate over summer or prepare for back-to-school.

Vouchers can be redeemed on the Tesco Grocery and Clubcard app, Tesco Mobile, Tesco Bank, and at Tesco petrol stations or Esso sites with Tesco Express.

Alternatively, customers at the UK’s largest retailer can donate their Clubcard vouchers to charity through the Clubcard website, with partners including FareShare, the British Red Cross and the Trussell Trust.f

The app now has a number of features to make Tesco customers’ shop more convenient or help them manage their budget, including online ordering, Whoosh deliveries, personalised coupons and a shopping list function.

According to the grocer, around four million customers using the Tesco Clubcard and Grocery app receive personalised coupons every two weeks – and can save up to £351 a year on their shop with Clubcard Prices alone.

The grocery giant has recently cut the price of more than 500 household essentials, with average savings of 13% – helping shoppers to reduce the cost of their weekly shop.

Tesco’s loyalty director, Tash Whitmey, said: “We want to help customers’ household budgets stretch further right now and Clubcard unlocks the best value from Tesco – from thousands of exclusive deals through Clubcard Prices to money off your groceries and fuel, or redeeming vouchers with the biggest and most generous Reward Partner scheme.”

She added: “With nearly £80m of vouchers landing this week, customers will be able to help their budget for their weekly shop go that bit further, or treat themselves to a fun day out with our Reward scheme.”

The retailer became the first major UK supermarket this month to grant staff new flexible working rights almost a year ahead of an expected change in the law next year.
