Iceland slashes the price of 200 products amid summer holidays

Iceland has slashed the price of 200 products as part of a summer savings initiative.

Customers can save up to £3.75 across products such as Richmond Sausages, Greggs cheese and onion bakes, Lurpak, Persil three in one washing capsules and Starbucks Multiserve caffe latte or caramel macchiato.

The Holiday Heroes scheme comes as the frozen food retailer found that 54% of parents will reduce their expenses over the summer to put food on the table.

Over a third (37%) admitted they will look for more deals when shopping and over a quarter will limit spending on themselves to manage costs.

As well as the price cut, Iceland is offering a £2 bonus card top up available until Friday September 1 when £15 worth of school meal vouchers is spent. On top of that, there is a sale with up to half price off selected items, with savings up to £2.25.

The supermarket is also offering mix and match offers including three for £3 and seven for £10 across a third of its entire range, with shoppers able to save up to £9.50.

These deals will run across branded goods such as Warburtons bread, Pepsi Max and Heinz Tomato Ketchup, as well as Iceland own-brand products including coleslaw and tomato and basil pasta salad.

Iceland Foods and The Food Warehouse group sales director, Paul Dhaliwal, said: “Families are more likely to be spending their summer at home due to rising costs. We want to alleviate some of the stress for parents so they, and the kids, can enjoy that time together.

“Our summer Heroes initiatives not only help families put food on the table thanks to value prices on household essentials as well as our exclusive Bonus Card benefits, but it will also help to keep the kids entertained on a budget.”

This comes as Iceland re-launched its 1p online sale last week to support shoppers during the summer holidays and ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Until August 11, the Holiday Helpers promotion will see selected items reduced to 1p for 24 hours.
