Morrisons launches new kids meal deal in its cafés to support families over summer

Morrisons has launched a new meal deal for children in its cafes, as it looks to support families over the school summer holidays.

Customers at the supermarket chain are now able to purchase a ‘pick ‘n’ mix’ style meal option for their kids, which includes a sandwich, snack and drink for £3.49.

For example, sandwiches filled with classic kids’ favourites, ham or cheese, can be paired with a wide range of snack and drink choices such as Hula Hoops, Babybels, jelly, fruit bags, flavoured milk, Robinsons Fruit Shoot, Cawston Press Juice or water.

The new kid’s meal deal can also be claimed for free through Morrisons’ continued Kids Eat Free offer, in which consumers can get one free meal from the kids menu with any adult meal over £4.49.

The offer is available all day, every day, seven days a week for any child aged under 16 in its cafés nationwide.

An adult meal deal has also been introduced for £4.79, offering customers a sandwich or toastie alongside a drink and cake.

Toastie options include ham and cheese, whilst egg & cress, prawn, tuna mayonnaise and salmon and cucumber sandwiches are available.

Both hot and cold drinks are included and cake options include chocolate fudge, lemon drizzle, brownie or a Victoria Sponge.

Morrisons café buying manager, Chris Strong said: “We understand that for many parents and carers keeping the kids fed during the summer holidays can be extremely challenging, particularly in the absence of free school meals.”

He added: “Our new pick ‘n’ mix meal deal, alongside our existing Kids Eat Free offer, are just a few ways we are helping everyone have access to nutritious food without breaking the bank.”

Earlier this month, Morrisons was offering NHS staff 75% off on hot menu items, regular hot drinks and cakes in all of its cafés, as it celebrated the 75th birthday of the NHS.
