Co-op extends delivery hours ahead of England v Norway match
Co-op is extending its online delivery slots for England’s quarter-final match this Saturday, as the retailer expects its biggest day for beer sales.
The sales for beer, lager and cider are expected to be 50 per cent higher than the previous weekend and 20 per cent ahead of the busiest day of this year, which was the England and Panama match on 27 June.
Additionally, barbecue food sales are expected to surge over the weekend, with the Co-op British burger and kebab sales estimated to go up by 133 per cent and 320 per cent, respectively.
Co-op’s British sausage sales are also estimated to rise by 35 per cent week-on-week.

The convenience retailer will extend its online home delivery times across around 130 stores to up to 1am through its website and partners, including Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
This comes as research from the retailer shows that 69 per cent of England fans are expected to be watching at home over the weekend.
Kate McCrae, Co-op’s operations director, said: “As a convenience retailer, the summer is our busiest time, and with England’s big game on Saturday along with soaring temperatures, we’ve stocked our shelves and are ready for what we expect to be our biggest day for beer, lager and cider sales.”
The move follows the retailer extending its online delivery hours earlier this month as demand increased over the World Cup tournament.
