As the cost-of-living crisis continues and inflation soars at 18.2%, this week grocery giant Tesco extended its price lock on over 1,000 everyday products until 5 July.

In a further move, the Big 4 grocer also dropped milk prices for the first time since May 2020 across its stores and online, as it continues its commitment to providing great value.

Sainsbury’s followed suit just hours later also cutting the price of milk in its stores.

“With costs going up, we are working hard to keep prices low, especially on the everyday essentials people buy the most,” spokesperson for Sainsbury’s said.

“We have reduced the price of our own brand milk to just £1.55 for four pints, £1.25 for two pints and 90p for a pint.”

They added: “Our focus on value means that all our customers can be confident that they will receive great deals when they shop with us and do not need to go anywhere else to get the best prices on their weekly shop.”
