Gail’s Bakery launches digital loyalty programme

Gail’s Bakery has launched its first digital loyalty programme which will offer customers a range of rewards.

The scheme which launched on 11 April, will see shoppers receiving a barista-made drink upon sign-up, a sweet treat during a customer’s birthday month, as well as personalised offers and rewards, and first-to-know alerts about new product launches and exclusive treats.

Shoppers will gain one digital stamp per visit on their app, or two stamps if they spend over £20, and once nine have been collected, loyalty members can access a free barista-made drink or loaf of bread.

Customers can access the platform by downloading the artisan bakery’s app and QR codes will be available in stores, which once scanned, will take users to the app itself.

“We’re excited to launch the Gail’s digital loyalty programme this spring. We have been searching for ways to reward our customers digitally by giving them unexpected delights and treats that are specifically tailored to their preferences,” Gail’s Bakery managing director, Marta Pogroszewska said.

She added that the launch of the loyalty programme comes “in response to how people now are looking to interact with the bakery, our baked goods and drinks.

This news comes as upmarket retailer Waitrose is set to introduce dedicated Gail’s Bakery areas in 64 of its stores by May and is doubling the range of the bakery’s sourdough breads and other craft baked goods, adding new lines of crackers, baguettes, bagels and muffins.
