Hotel Chocolat has announced the return of drinking chocolate pouches after strong consumer demand, which was previously retired in September 2025.

The confectionery manufacturer has brought back the recipes in a format which is designed to meet the needs of premium hot chocolate shoppers and offer greater flexibility.

The range is available in Classic, Milky, Salted Caramel and Vanilla White variants priced at £9.95, respectively, in the Hotel Chocolat’s stores and online from 17 August 2026.

According to the business, the customer feedback consistently highlighted the resealable format offered and how the strength of the drink can be adjusted.

Hotel Chocolat stated that this is an opportunity to broaden the premium drinking chocolate category by serving various shopper missions instead of encouraging shoppers to choose one format over another.

According to the company, each recipe was created with more cacao, and the resealable pouch format helps keep the chocolate flakes fresh between cups, which supports repeat consumption at home.

Ollie Pearce, global business unit lead – Velvetiser and Drinking Chocolate at Hotel Chocolat said: “Bringing the pouches back was driven by what our customers told us they wanted. We’ve learned that shoppers aren’t all looking for the same drinking chocolate experience.

“Some are looking for a convenient, ready-portioned serve, while others want the flexibility to create their perfect cup at home, whether that’s in the Velvetiser, on the hob or with a steam wand.

“The return of the pouches reflects how the category is evolving. Consumers are looking for products that fit naturally into everyday routines while still delivering a premium experience.’’
