Aldi is offering shoppers the chance to receive free bottles of wine in exchange for honest reviews of the products.
The Aldi Wine Club will see 30 new members trialling, testing and reviewing three bottles of the discount grocer’s brand new range of wine over a six-week period.
Those chosen will in turn be asked to share their honest reviews of the wines across Instagram or Twitter using the dedicated #AldiWineClub hashtag.

Each member will also be provided with a set of tasting notes from the face of the Aldi Wine School, mistress of wine Sam Capron, including: “Keep the wine you plan to taste somewhere that has a fairly constant, cool temperature.”
She added that “smelling wine releases the aromas and helps you to identify different flavours that your tongue might not pick up. Gently swirl the glass just before to make it easier to pick up on your favourite wine flavours that your taste buds alone won’t be able to pick up.”
Capron also suggested not to keep white or pink wine too cold “as that makes them harder to smell. As the wine warms up in the glass you will find the wine changes slightly and the aromas become more distinct.”
This follows on from Aldi’s previous consumer wine survey, which saw three shoppers trialling and testing a selection of wines alongside its buying team at its headquarters in Atherstone to taste its “never been sipped” wine selections.
