Amazon opens new Fresh grocery store in Monument

Amazon is opening a new Amazon Fresh store in London today (26 January), adding to its collection of 19 stores in the UK.

Located at 20 Gracechurch Street in Monument, the store opened its doors at 7am this morning and closes at 11pm, available seven days a week.

Offering grocery items including fresh meat, poultry, fish, dairy, fruit, vegetables and bakery products, the store also serves hot food throughout the day and on-the-go meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Shoppers will be able to checkout for their groceries either using a QR code on the Amazon app or a payment card, with no queing needed.

Items can also be checked out for customers via a member of the Amazon Fresh team in-store.

The Monument site allows customers to pick up items purchased on Amazon.co.uk at the Amazon Hub in store and make returns without needing to package the product or print a shipping label.

This comes as Amazon opened another new Fresh store on 24 January in the London borough of Croydon, just days after closing one of its stores in Dalston, north east London.

The Kingsland High Street Dalston store which closed permanently this week, comes less than 18 months after it was initiallty launched.
