Beyond Meat has created a plant-based haggis recipe that vegetarian or vegan consumers can prepare for Burns Night.

Made from the vegan meat brands Beyond Mince, as well as oats, vegetable suet and traditional haggis spices, the recipe looks to offer an option that’s kinder on the planet.

The recipe and full ingredients list can be found via Beyond Meat Europe’s Instagram page tomorrow (25 January) in time for the annual celebrations.

“We are happy the people of Edinburgh voted yes on adopting the plant-based treaty. To celebrate, we’ve created a special Beyond Haggis recipe that’s kinder on the planet,” Beyond Meat UK brand manager, Ellie Stevens said.

“Whether you’re an ardent carnivore or attempting to go flexitarian this year, eating plant-based is much easier than you think – give our delicious Beyond Haggis dish a go on Burns Night.”

This comes as Beyond Meat has teamed up with Peter Andre to encourage the nation to try a plant-based diet this Veganuary.

As part of the ‘Take The First Step Beyond’ campaign, a cooking contest will run online and via social media, with Andre demostrating how to swap animal meat for plant-based meat and asking Brits to pair store cupboard essentials with a Beyond Meat product.
