Great British Drinks names new production director
Great British Drinks Company has appointed former BrewDog executive James Kemp as the production director.
The business is the parent company of a portfolio of brands including Black Sheep Brewery, Purity Brewing Co and Magic Rock Brewing.
As part of the new role, Kemp is set to focus on production and innovation across the company’s brewery estate, with a focus on Black Sheep Brewery.
He brings years of industry experience to the position, previously working at Thronbridge, Buxton, Yeastie Boys and BrewDog for over six years.
The business stated his role will focus on strengthening operational efficiency and capability as the company pushes towards high-volume opportunities.
Kemp said: “We have an exceptional collection of beer brands; my role is to ensure we deliver the best quality beer with a real focus on ingredients and innovation.”

Dom Metcalfe, MD at Great British Drinks Company, said: “At Great British Drinks Company, we have strong brands with loyal fans, and this appointment gives us the expertise to take on big on- and off-trade opportunities.
“He has the knowledge to make great beers at scale with maximum efficiency, and that’s exactly what we need as we restore revenue and prepare to revitalise growth.”
This comes after several executive appointments as Great British Drinks prepares for its next phase of growth.
Last month the company appointed a new head of on-trade as it prepares to push towards long-term growth and scale commercial capability.
Great British Drinks was officially formed in January 2026 and produces its own-label beer across three brewery sites alongside managing an umbrella of heritage and contemporary brands.
