Aldi launches limited-edition sportswear range

Discount grocer Aldi has launched its own limited-edition sportswear clothing range, ‘Aldi Originals’.

Featuring hoodies, matching joggers for £12.99, trainers at £14.99 and socks starting at £2.49, a Christmas onesie will also be available in time for the festive period.

The clothing line launched online on Sunday and saw many items sold out within hours, however is set to also roll out in Aldi stores from 24 November.

Across social media, shoppers have claimed the range is Aldi’s “most daring campaign yet”, with some dubbing the trainers as ‘Aldidas’.

“With the festive season just around the corner, we wanted to give Aldi shoppers something to smile about – and also prove that you don’t have to break the bank paying high-fashion prices to look and feel the part,” an Aldi spokesperson told Metro.

“We are expecting this range to be extremely popular, and as with all Special buys once they’re gone, they’re gone – so we’d advise shoppers to be quick to avoid disappointment.”

The range is expected to be as popular as its ‘Aldimania’ range which also sold out in hours.

This comes as over 70,000 shoppers queued online at Aldi to buy its Kevin the Carrot toys featured in the supermarket giant’s 2022 Christmas advert last week.

The “extremely high” demand for the toys also saw hundreds queuing outside Aldi stores across the country.

Speaking of the popularity an Aldi spokesperson said: “The demand for our Kevin the Carrot soft toys was extremely high and, as a result, customers were held in a queue to enter the website. This was to improve the customer experience on our website and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
