Florette campaign to see over one million wildflowers planted

Salad brand, Florette has announced it will be giving away over one million wildflowers with an aim to highlight its farmer owned status and sustainably produced salad.

The initiative taking place next month will see tens of thousands of seeds donated to consumers in the hope they will be planted.

This also looks to support the brand’s current biodiversity credentials such as being self-sufficient in water due to its on site reservoirs which also create natural habitats for wildlife.

Florette also leaves areas of fields uncropped, creating wildlife corridors that form network habitats for insects and small animals.

The campaign will be promoted via back of pack messaging, influencer and media partnerships, PR and across social media platforms.

“As a farmer owned business, we’re as passionate about protecting the environment and nurturing the land as we are about growing salad,” Florette UK commercial and marketing director, Martin Purdy said.

“Supporting wildlife and their habitats is just one of the ways we do this on our sites across the UK.

“Supporting our local ecosystems has always been extremely important to us at Florette, and we recognise this is something we have in common with our customers who care deeply about nature.

“While setting a good example through our values, we’re asking consumers to join us and ‘bee a part of it’ by helping us to plant over one million wildflowers this September”

This news follows Florette’s announcement in July of its new brand ambassador, Michael Perry, also known as Mr Plant Geek, a gardening influencer and television presenter.
