Rapid grocer Jiffy price match Tesco on 150 products

Rapid grocery delivery firm Jiffy has pledged to price-match more than 150 products available on Tesco’s online store, and discount a further 460 lines as a response to the cost of living crisis.

The price match, alongside the discounts, means that up to 24% of the ultrafast grocer’s available range will be of “better value for money and savings”.

The 150 selected products will be price matched against Tesco.com every week. However, the comparison doesn’t include Clubcard offers and promotions.

Jiffy stated it had seen a ‘significant’ increase in planned buying rather than ‘impulse’ purchases as customers start to feel the pinch of soaring inflation rates.

“We are seeing the highest rise in inflation since 1992 and as a result, the cost of living is having a devastating impact on households across the country,” Jiffy buying director Justin James said.

“We are responding by offering savings across a quarter of our range and have chosen to price match Tesco.com because we want to allay any misconceptions that fast delivery should come at a cost to consumers.”

The news comes after Big 4 grocers, Morrisons and Asda, announced plans to keep prices low in a bid to tackle the cost-of-living crisis.

Asda confirmed it has ‘dropped and locked’ the price of over 100 family favourites and will lock the price down until the end of the year, while Morrisons slashed prices of hundreds of its own-brand lines.
