The Co-op has teamed up with Uber Eats to deliver grocery items from the symbol group retailer in 30 minutes across Southampton.
As a result, customers in the area can now order over 1,600 items from the convenience retailer, and to celebrate the launch, the food delivery service is offering 50% off orders from the participating Co-op stores.
These stores include: The Co-operative Food in City Gateway, Archer’s Road, Commercial Road, West End and Southampton High Street.

“As demand for grocery and essential household goods continues to soar on Uber Eats, we’re proud to be expanding our offering bringing co-op items to thousands of locals in Southampton,” Uber Eats general manager Matthew Price said.
Southern Co-op’s chief operating officer Simon Eastwood said: “Our new delivery service in Southampton via Uber Eats is a fantastic addition to the services we already provide in our local communities. Our store colleagues have made an incredible difference during the pandemic and this new offer extends our services to even more people.
“Whether they are unable to leave their home, they have run out of an essential ingredient at a crucial stage of cooking, or they just want to put their feet up, we’re pleased to be able to offer them a speedy delivery service via Uber Eats – a reliable and instantly recognisable partner.”
The news comes as the Co-op has been named the worst UK supermarket for the second year running, in the annual survey from consumer watchdog Which?.
