Premier Foods has appointed Tania Howarth as an independent non-executive director of the company, with effect from 1 March 2022.

As a result, she will join the audit remuneration and nomination committees.

Howarth has extensive senior executive experience across global FMCG businesses. Until 2017 she was chief operating officer of frozen food brand Nomad Foods.

During her 10-year tenure she had responsibility for supply chain, quality, HR, IT and M&A integration for brands such as Birds Eye and Iglo.

She has also held senior positions at Coca-Cola for its European and African business arm and spent nine years at Walkers Snack Foods, latterly as CIO.

“I am delighted that Tania has agreed to join the board. She brings with her considerable senior executive experience in the branded food industry with particular expertise in technology,” Premier Foods chairman Colin Day said.

“Her appointment strengthens the breadth of the board’s experience as we continue to pursue our branded growth strategy and path to further value creation.”

She is currently a non-executive chair of Ozo Innovations, an advisor to the private equity business within Goldman Sachs asset management and a member of the technology advisory board at NatWest Group.
