Bestway has poached McColl’s Retail Group customer director, Tim Fairs, as its new marketing director.
In his new role, he will lead the marketing teams in Bestway’s Retail arms, which includes Costcutter, Bargain Booze, Best-one and Wine Rack.
Fairs joined McColls in 2018 from Clintons, where he held the position of vice president of marketing and e-commerce for over six years.

He was also head of marketing at Dixons Carphone and Virgin, and has previously held senior positions at Blockbuster, Comet and Big 4 grocer Sainsburys.
The news comes as the retailer announced it has put a selection of its properties up for sale.
The wholesaler acquired the stores from the Bargain Booze administrators in 2018 and is selling the assets through property agents Christie & Co.
