Aldi Specialbuys delayed by Suez Canal blockage

Aldi has warned its customers of delays up to a month on its Specialbuy products after the blockage of the Suez Canal in March.

Earlier this week, the supermarket confirmed 20 of its products were affected by the delays.

The list has now been shortened to just 10 products.

Aldi also said that it was working hard to make the products available “as soon as possible.”

On March 29, salvage teams freed the Ever Given container ship after it clogged one of the world’s most vital waterways for six days.

The delayed items include:

  • Travel cot – expected late April, after being advertised 28 March
  • Multi-purpose floor mat – expected mid-May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Bicycle lock – expected mid-May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Cycling shorts with seat – expected mid-May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Bike frame bag – expected mid-May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Bike cleaning set – expected mid-May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Bike seat cover – expected mid-May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Mountain bike – expected mid-May, after being advertised 15 April
  • Metal jerry can – expected mid-May, after being advertised 18 April
