Lidl Northern Ireland has announced it will create 180 local jobs and will increase pay by £1.5 million to reward all employees for their efforts throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
The new jobs will range from operational and office-based positions across its 41 NI stores and regional distribution centre in Nutt’s Corner.
NI’s new roles are designed to support Lidl’s regional growth as it aims to expand to 50 stores and 1,300 employees by 2030.

The news comes after Lidl’s recruitment drive last year of over 300 roles and asserts NI as Lidl’s fastest growing region.
Additionally, the £1.5million pay increase is set for 1 March and would supplement the previous £300,000 worth of Covid-19 bonuses made last year.
In November 2021, the discount retailer also renewed its commitment to pay over 450 employees the recommended Living Wage of £10.10 per hour.
The move comes part of Lidl’s pledge to create 4000 new jobs over the next three years, with 1000 stores by 2023.
“We are delighted to continue to invest in our expansion in NI and continue to growing our team further in 2022 with 180 new roles,” Lidl Ireland & NI director of human resources Maeve McCleane said.
“Our most important asset has always been our people who are the bedrock of our business, which is why we have prioritised building an exceptional place to work.”
