Thatchers Cider has partnered with OS Maps to launch ‘Pint Sized Walks’, which is a collection of scenic pub walks across the UK which is designed to make it easier for users to find local pubs.

This comes as research from the brand revealed that two-thirds (67 per cent) of Brits find a walk more appealing if there’s a good pub at the end of it, and 53 per cent would be willing to walk up to an extra hour to reach one.

Additionally, good scenery (53 per cent) and a countryside location (38 per cent) were the most essential factors among the respondents when choosing a walking route.

The routes include coastal hotspots, countryside locations and national parks in places such as Devon, Cornwall, Pembrokeshire and Hampshire.

The first collection of the ‘Pint Sized Walks’ routes has now launched across the OS Maps app, with more set to expand over the coming months.

The data found that cider was selected as the top refreshing post-walk choice for 18- to 24 year olds (22 per cent) and people in the South West (28 per cent).

This collaboration comes as Brits are looking for more achievable, sociable outdoor experiences which merge good company and hospitality.

Martin Thatcher, fourth-generation cider maker at Thatchers Cider, said: “There’s something wonderfully simple about finishing a great walk in a fantastic pub, combining the best of the outdoors with opportunities to relax, reconnect and spend quality time with friends and family.

“We created Pint-Sized Walks to make the most of those moments and encourage people to get out and explore more of what Britain has to offer this summer. The routes are designed to feel achievable, sociable and enjoyable for everyone — with a great pub waiting at the end.”
