Aldi Scotland’s top-selling products of 2025

Bananas were Aldi Scotland’s best-selling product of 2025, with more than 15 million sold across the discounter’s 112 stores.

The data also found that ready salted crisps were the most preferred flavour in the category, with over 650,000 bags purchased, which was 20% more than the next contender, cheese and onion.

During the 12-month period, consumers made over 60m Aldi trips, where they purchased 6m packets of sweets, 19m packs of biscuits and 375,000 packs of porridge.

Alan Leslie, buying director at Aldi said: “Scotland has spoken, and it seems we’re a nation powered by porridge, pies and a whole lot of bananas. It’s been another fantastic year for our Scottish producers, with millions of locally sourced food and drink items chosen by our customers.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who shopped with us in 2025, and we look forward to continuing to bring unbeatable value to our customers in the year ahead.”

Shoppers at Aldi Scotland also bought over 45m pints of Scottish milk and 4m Scotch pancakes. Aldi’s fresh meat and fish aisles had a strong performance, with 48m packs sold during the year.

The most popular choice for shoppers in the fresh meat category was the Scottish chicken breast.
