Aldi to inject £67m investment in existing stores in 2025
Aldi is set to invest £67m in upgrading its existing store estate in 2025, as part of its store enhancement programme.
The new investment brings the total amount the discounter has spent on store upgrades since 2017, up to almost £600m.
Aldi said its store upgrades focus on creating a better shopping experience for customers, with improvements ranging from more space for fresh, chilled, and food-to-go ranges, as well as simpler layouts, improved fixtures and energy-efficient LED lighting.
This new phase is set to bring further improvements, including additional in-store features such as improved bakery, and health and beauty fixtures for customers.
Stores will also benefit from CO2 refrigeration upgrades, contributing to an estimated reduction in carbon emissions equivalent to heating over 6,500 homes, when the programme is complete.

Aldi national real estate managing director Jonathan Neale said: “Aldi’s £67m investment is a major step forward in our commitment to delivering an even better shopping experience for our customers across Britain.
“Building on the success of our previous upgrades, we’re enhancing store layouts as part of our dedication to providing customers with more sustainable stores, convenience and an improved shopping experience nationwide.”
It follows Aldi also investing an estimated £650m on opening new stores across Britain in 2025, with prime locations including new sites in Fulham Broadway in London, Billericay in Essex, and Cheadle in Stoke-on-Trent.
