Asda marks 30 years of Tickled Pink with 220-product campaign

News

Asda marked the 30th anniversary of its Tickled Pink campaign with more than 220 products supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.

The supermarket said the initiative had raised more than £110 million for breast cancer charities since launching in 1996, including £100 million by 2025.

Funds raised through this year’s campaign will support Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!, with donations split 70/30 between the two charities respectively.

More than 220 products from household brands have been given pink packaging exclusively for Asda during October, including Diet Coke, Yorkshire Tea, Mr Kipling, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Swizzels Squashies and Häagen-Dazs.

Around 35 per cent of the participating products also feature breast-checking messaging on pack.

Kylie Minogue has also joined the campaign with an exclusive £10 baby-pink T-shirt featuring a glitter-ball design and her signature, with all profits donated to the two charities.

The singer’s Kylie 0 per cent Sparkling Rosé has also been released in a special-edition bottle featuring a pink bow.

George at Asda has created a wider Tickled Pink clothing collection, including a collaboration with Coca-Cola covering Diet Coke-branded pyjamas, T-shirts and accessories.

Asda charity partnerships manager Emma Betts said: “As we celebrate 30 years of Tickled Pink, our suppliers continue to amaze us with their passion, creativity and generosity.

“Their unwavering support has helped turn ambitious fundraising ideas into meaningful results, supporting countless people and communities along the way.

“It’s set to be one of our biggest ever years with over 220 products available both in stores and online, giving customers the opportunity to donate by purchasing everyday household products and clothing items.”

Asda said customers, colleagues and suppliers had all contributed to the campaign over the past three decades, helping fund education, support and breast health awareness services delivered by its charity partners.
