Botivo expands supermarket footprint with M&S, Tesco and Sainsbury’s listings
Botivo is set to surpass 1,000 supermarket stocking points by the end of 2026 after securing new listings with M&S and Tesco and expanding its presence at Sainsbury’s.
The British botanical aperitivo brand, founded four years ago by Imme Ermgassen and Sam Paget Steavenson, said its supermarket distribution is on course to increase fourfold in a year, up from 280 stocking points across two retailers in December 2025.
Botivo launched into M&S on 23 September, with cans rolling out to 344 stores and bottles to 549 stores.
Its four-pack cans also launched exclusively into 492 Tesco stores on 4 October, while at Sainsbury’s, bottle distribution has increased from 59 to 229 stores, with cans now available in a further 59 locations.
The brand said retail sales are up 400 per cent year on year, while revenue tripled between 2023 and 2024 and has continued to almost double annually since.
Botivo also claims it is growing 22 times faster than the wider non-alcoholic spirits category.
To support the expansion, the business has opened a new production facility, increasing capacity to one million bottles a year.
Botivo is now stocked across M&S, Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Whole Foods, Ocado and Majestic, while also building its presence in hospitality.
The brand said it is currently served in 41 Michelin-starred restaurants and 45 of the UK’s Top 100 restaurants.
Co-founder Imme Ermgassen said: “Our journey so far has been about brand building, ensuring Botivo has the big brand energy to secure distribution.
“We are now stepping into that scale-up phase, with retail listings quadrupling in the past three months. We just turned four years old, so we’re truly excited to see how big we can go.”
