Leicester-based brand Tuk In Foods has secured a retail listing in the frozen aisle of Sainsbury’s, with a full range of naans and sides launching this week.

According to the business, the frozen street range builds on its success in the chilled food-to-go aisle, where sales of the filled naans have increased by 37.6 per cent.

The products will launch at Sainsbury’s on 27 September, which builds on the brand’s mission to solidify its presence in the Indian cuisine segment.

The range includes a Chicken Tikka Curry in a Naan and Butter Chicken Curry in a Naan as well as two sides of Onion Bhajis and Chicken Tikka Samosas to complete the meal.

Tuk In Foods founder Thomas Cropper said: “The frozen aisle is fast becoming a hotbed of innovation and excitement – but for too long, Indian food has lagged behind in this area of the store.

“With this launch, we want to establish the freezers as a destination for quality, innovative Indian food and bring our much-loved filled naans to a new occasion.”

The business aims to increase the brand’s presence in the food-to-segment and offer a more convenient option for shoppers living busy lives.

Additionally, Tuk In Foods aims to meet the demand for health-conscious shoppers by creating products with no artificial additives or preservatives.

Cropper added: “For Tuk In Foods, frozen is the next chapter for convenience, not a step away from it.

“Whether it’s a satisfying work-from-home lunch or a quick and tasty dinner option, our frozen street food range will bring our brand to more people on more occasions – using our tasty kitchen cupboard ingredients.”
