Aldi has announced a further £100m to cut down the price of 330 products to help support families during the school holidays.

The discounter will launch lower prices across multiple categories for everyday essentials, including fresh and frozen food, cupboard staples, household items and personal care products.

This move marks Aldi’s reduction of the price of over 1,000 products so far, which marks a total investment of £300m to maintain lower grocery bills.

Some of the discounts include a reduction of 80p on selected British steaks, such as the 21-day Matured Sirloin Steak and 21-day Matured Ribeye Steak, which is now £4.59.

There are also savings across fruit and vegetables, including 40p off Aldi’s 4-pack Nectarines and 22p off Honeydew Melons.

Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: “It’s never been more important that everyday grocery essentials and family favourites remain affordable.

“We’re committed to keeping prices low on popular products because we know it can make a real difference, helping families to make the most of the summer.”

Additionally, the discounter’s own-label range of cheddar cheeses is now £2.99, which delivers savings of 40p.

This is part of Aldi’s wider commitment to supporting families, with the supermarket recently announcing the return of its Summer Support Scheme to give away £50 vouchers to shoppers every day throughout July and August.
