Deliveroo tests two new app platform upgrades
Deliveroo has launched two new platform upgrades this week to give shoppers more choice from high street restaurants and shops.
The first feature named ‘Bundles’ allows customers to shop from up to three stores in one basket with no extra delivery fee, which covers thousands of grocery and retail stores.
The new features are being trialled across the UK and Ireland by those who use the app for grocery shopping.
Through testing multi-store ordering functionality, the delivery platform is looking to increase order volume, frequency and basket size with a more flexible and dynamic customer experience.
Additionally, the platform is improving its ‘post-order top-up’ feature, which allows customers to add items from a nearby retailer to their restaurant order within a ten-minute checkout window.

VP of consumer & new verticals at Deliveroo, Suzy McClintock, said: “We want to emulate a trip to the shops on your local high street through the ability to order from multiple stores in a single order.
“Whether that be your local supermarket, butchers or bakers, through to your pharmacy or florist, grocery customers can fulfil different needs in a single order for no extra delivery cost.”
This feature is being extended to restaurants which allow shoppers to add items from a restaurant nearby after checkout, which is recommended for those who want to order a meal alongside groceries.
The new bundles and top-up features are currently part of a pilot phase and will be integrated over time depending on the customer response.
This move is part of the Deliveroo’s latest investment into its grocery and retail offering.
