Lidl to give healthy eating vouchers to students
Lidl has announced a new initiative to support healthy eating among young students across Great Britain, as research revealed that many students are skipping meals and relying on energy drinks.
The discount retailer is offering £10 vouchers and nutritional advice to students ahead of the exam season.
Research from Lidl found that students aged 16 to 18 are more likely to lean towards unhealthy habits during this time.
Additionally, 32 per cent of students relied on energy drinks, and 25 per cent used sugary snacks to stay energised.
The data revealed that 43 per cent of students often miss breakfast on the morning of their exam, while three quarters (75 per cent) stated they have felt hungry while sitting an exam.

Over half (54 per cent) of the students also claimed to not know which foods support cognitive performance.
Georgina Hall, director of corporate affairs at Lidl GB said: “I remember well the late-night coffees and chocolate-fuelled study sessions I had during my own exam periods. The world’s understanding of nutrition and how we can help ourselves has evolved so much in recent years, though.
“We want to help make this exam season easier for the next generation because eating well shouldn’t cost the earth, and we firmly believe that everyone should have access to healthy, affordable food.”
As part of the campaign, Lidl GB will be offering £10 vouchers to 100 students across Great Britain, and the public can enter the giveaway on the retailer’s website.
