Acai brand Sambazon has launched across 400 Tesco stores nationwide, marking a significant step for the brand’s retail growth.

This builds on the major success of the brand, experiencing a 153 per cent UK revenue growth over the past three years.

Sambazon’s scoopable frozen acai is available in a ready-to-serve pot for £4.70, designed for quick acai bowls, desserts or snacks.

The launch will be supported by a marketing campaign by Sambazon which includes an influencer initiative where creators will showcase acai recipes on their channels.

Additionally, there is set to be in-store marketing activity with branded freezer fins launching in Tesco from 22 April to create high visibility and drive consumer engagement.

Mari Laidlaw, Sambazon’s MD for Europe, said: “We are incredibly excited to partner with Tesco to bring our delicious products to even more parts of the UK, especially as the frozen aisle increasingly becomes a destination for consumers.

“We’ve witnessed a strong and increasing demand for our acai products, building on our positive experiences with other major retailers.

“Our consumer-focused approach and digital engagement with younger, socially aware shoppers who use platforms such as TikTok for frozen food ideas will bring a fresh energy to the frozen aisle.”

This comes as the UK acai category is experiencing strong growth, which is prominent among younger shoppers who choose frozen equivalents of fresh items motivated by their longer shelf life.

The move builds on the brand’s position as the first-to-market branded açai in the UK, and it has an existing presence across leading retailers.
