Center Parcs and Co-op Wholesale partnership nears £100,000 for Together for Short Lives
Center Parcs and Co-op Wholesale have raised nearly £100,000 for children’s hospice charity Together for Short Lives through a decade-long fundraising partnership.
The money has been generated through Co-op Wholesale’s charity partner, Making a Difference Locally, with funding linked to sales of Co-op own-brand products sold through Center Parcs’ Parc Market stores.
The latest donation of £18,782 takes the total raised over the course of the partnership to just under £100,000, supporting children’s hospices across the UK.
The funding helps hospices provide care for children living with serious illness and support for their families, including symptom management, short breaks, end-of-life care and bereavement services.
Nick Carroll, chief executive of Together for Short Lives, said: “The generosity of the Making a Difference Locally scheme is truly humbling.
“The latest donation of £18,782 will go to children’s hospices across the UK, helping fund vital care and support. For families facing the ups and downs of caring for a child living with serious illness, this kind of donation makes all the difference, and we are deeply thankful.”
The partnership has seen Co-op Wholesale and Center Parcs use everyday grocery sales to generate consistent charitable funding, with the donations helping to sustain services for thousands of families.
Nick Old, group FBR central support manager at Center Parcs, said: “We are delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause in the local communities near our five villages.
“The work that Together for Short Lives does is truly inspiring, and through our partnership with Co-op Wholesale and Making a Difference Locally, we are proud to help make a difference to children and families in their time of need.”
Kate Carroll, social value lead at Co-op Wholesale, said the fundraising reflected the purpose of the Making a Difference Locally initiative.
She added: “This is exactly what our Making a Difference Locally fund is all about – empowering Co-op Wholesale partners to support the groups that make a real difference in people’s lives. We’re proud that MADL has been able to support a charity doing such important work.”
