Asda rolls out laundry machines across the UK
Asda is launching laundry machines in its stores from May onwards in partnership with ME Group International.
The retailer is set to install up to 700 self-service laundry machines in Asda supermarkets, supercentres, superstores and Express sites.
The move aims to expand the services offered to shoppers, giving customers a quick and convenient way to wash and dry clothes while they shop.
Each unit will offer large-capacity 9 kg and 20 kg washing drums, eco-friendly cycles and high-speed drying with 24/7 availability at many locations.
Joseph Sutton, VP of Asda Express, foodservice and fuel, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to make life easier for the customers who shop with us, particularly by strengthening the breadth of services that meet their needs under one roof.

“This large‑scale rollout of Wash.ME units give customers a quick, convenient and great‑value way to tackle their laundry while they shop. We’re pleased to be working with ME Group on this significant partnership and look forward to seeing the benefits it brings to customers across the UK.”
Vladimir Crasneanscki, deputy CEO of ME Group, said: “Asda is a perfect company to partner with; their retail and petrol stations are excellent locations for our services, and their innovative and fast-paced approach will enable us to deploy our units rapidly.”
The expansion of in-store services comes as the retailer is pushing towards a financial transformation plan, recently seeing its best sales performance since April 2024 in the latest grocery market share data.
