Morrisons cafés across the UK will be offering mothers a free slice of cake during Mother’s Day weekend on 14 and 15 March.

Over the weekend, visiting customers will be able to choose from a range of sweet treats, including a Victoria Sponge Cake, Sticky Toffee Cake and Panettone Bread & Butter Pudding with no other purchase needed.

The supermarket retailer is also offering an Afternoon Tea two deal at £15, which will run over the Mother’s Day weekend.

Morrisons’ Mother Day deal includes two fruit scones served with cream and jam, a lemon muffin, a salted caramel brownie and a selection of meaty and vegetarian options for sandwiches.

Matt Khan, senior café trader at Morrisons, said: “Mother’s Day is all about celebrating the amazing mums and mother figures in our lives.

“We know families are always looking for ways to make special memories without overspending, so we’re delighted to offer mums a well-deserved free slice of cake in our cafés this weekend.”

This move comes after the grocery giant announced a free breakfast programme for children throughout every school holiday this year in partnership with Kellogg’s last month.
