Suntory Beverage & Food is returning its Ribena Winter Spice from September to January across major grocery stores in the UK.

The product combines Ribena’s blackcurrant flavour with festive spices to offer shoppers a seasonal twist on a popular classic drink.

According to the business, the drink also offers 100 per cent of the daily recommended daily intake of vitamin C in every 250ml serving to support overall immune function.

The company aims to leverage the opportunity to provide drinks for seasonal occasions as consumers are increasingly looking for more alcohol-free options.

Research from KAM revealed that 84 per cent of British adults cited health reasons as one of the main factors for moderation, as there is a rise in no/low alcohol consumption.

Additionally, the business aims to offer a sales boost for retailers within the squash fixture category over the colder winter months.

This is also part of the company’s strategy to introduce seasonal innovation for the long-established brand as it aims to tap into consumer interest in limited-edition products.

Sarah Fleetwood, head of marketing for Ribena, said: “Ribena Winter Spice is back once again and brings a seasonal twist to the Ribena blackcurrant taste shoppers already know and love.

“More importantly for retailers, it has a proven track record of delivering incremental sales to the squash category and bringing festive cheer to the aisle.”

The new product will be available in an 850ml squash format for an RRP of £2.25.
