The investment will fund a wide range of improvements to its store estate, including building extensions and enhancement upgrades.

The changes will differ by location but will involve adding more space to shop and upgrades such as updated fixtures and signage and redesigning store layouts.

“By extending some stores and by upgrading and improving others across the country, we can serve even more customers while creating even better shopping environments for our colleagues and shoppers.”

Aldi’s proposed sustainability features include energy-efficient technology such as fridge doors to reduce power use and natural refrigerants to cut carbon emissions.

The list of stores set to be renovated in the upcoming months includes:

  • Beck Road, Huddersfield
  • Glamorgan Vale RP, Llantrisant
  • Bebington Road, Bebington
  • Springbank Road, Stirling
  • Smithdown Road, Liverpool
  • Brooks Road, Lewes
  • Chester-le-Street, County Durham
  • Handsworth Road, Sheffield
  • Haverhill, Suffolk
  • Tybridge Street, Worcester
  • Chorley, Lancashire

The move comes after the discount recently announced a £370m commitment to opening 40 new stores in 2026.
