Morrisons director of convenience and wholesale departs
Morrisons director of convenience and wholesale Matt Heslop has departed from the role.
Heslop joined the retailer’s leadership team in March 2025, after working at rival Lidl for over 20 years in different roles, including COO at Lidl Ireland.
In his most recent position, prior to serving on Morrisons’ executive team, he worked as Lidl UK’s chief operating officer (COO) from January 2017 to March 2025.
The news comes after Morrisons recently appointed former Asda product manager Joseph Blaize as its new trading director in February.

At Asda he oversaw a number of commercial categories, including ready meals, dairy and meat within both retail and manufacturing.
In October last year, the retailer also appointed former Asda executive Kelly-Ann McQueen as its new trading director for dairy and eggs.
During her most recent role, McQueen was senior buying manager for the core chilled division at Asda for two years.
