Delivery firm Deliveroo is launching a more sustainable food box, which features a locking mechanism designed by Sheffield Hallam University students and produced by Biopak.

The new packaging is created to reduce overall plastic use and is now available for UK restaurants to buy on Deliveroo’s webstore.

The design has a new sealing system which uses additional folds in the cardboard, aiming to decrease spillages and maintain temperature.

According to the business, the new packaging was produced without a significant extra cost, which makes it a highly competitive option for listed restaurants.
