Tesco is giving away 3 million free apples for two weeks between 30 December and 13 January at over 800 large stores as part of its Less to pay for 5-a-day” campaign.

Additionally, Click & Collect shoppers will be able to receive free apples for their children in 119 Tesco supermarkets.

The initiative builds on Tesco’s recently extended fruit & veg for schools programme, which helped over 140,000 children in the last academic year between 2024 and 2025.

Ashwin Prasad, UK CEO of Tesco, said: “We’re committed to making healthy choices easier, quicker and better value for our customers. With new offers, Clubcard Challenges, free fruit for kids and fresh online recipes, we’re helping kids get more of their five‑a‑day and making healthy eating fun for the entire nation.”

Additionally, the retailer will also give select customers extra Clubcard points for buying fruit & veg products from 12 January 2026 onwards.

The key products included in the discounts include apples, oranges, lettuce and avocados, as well as frozen products including peas and sweetcorn.

This move supports Tesco’s wider commitment to boost healthy eating among shoppers in the UK. The supermarket will also promote the campaign by sharing healthy food content and recipes across its social media and online channels.
