McVitie’s owner Pladis tops £3bn in record year for global snacking sales
Snack manufacturer Pladis has recorded sales in excess of £3 billion milestone for the first time.
For the year ending 31 December 2024, Group revenue rose 17% year-on-year to £3.23bn, driven by double-digit international growth and strong consumer demand for its core biscuit and snack brands.
The operating profit at the London-headquartered snacking group – which is behind McVitie’s, Jacob’s, Carr’s, and Flipz – climbed 4% to £344.4m, while EBITDA increased 11% to £486.9m, underpinned by tighter operational discipline and a focus on brand-led growth.
The results cap a strong year of innovation for the FMCG giant, which rolled out several NPDs across its portfolio, including a ‘Cola Bottle’ flavour Jaffa Cake, and Jacob’s Bites, a new bite-sized savoury range targeting younger shoppers.
Through its Ülker brand in Türkiye, Pladis also capitalised on the viral Dubai chocolate trend, producing over 3,000 tonnes between August and December 2024.

Chief financial officer Sridhar Ramamurthy said: “2024 represented another year of strong progress for Pladis as we cement our position as one of the fastest-growing global snacking companies. Our performance is testament to the dedication of our 16,000 colleagues and our agility in responding to evolving consumer tastes for both indulgence and healthier snacking.”
He added that the group continues to invest in digital infrastructure, R&D and brand advertising, alongside its recently announced £68 million UK operations upgrade, to fuel long-term growth.
Founded in 2016, Pladis now sells products in more than 110 countries and is the fourth-largest sweet and biscuit maker globally and seventh-largest chocolate manufacturer.
