Waitrose launches Little Treats loyalty programme
Supermarket chain Waitrose is piloting a new programme which provides additional benefits to loyalty card members by giving them free products or money-off vouchers every month.
The new scheme is set to start today (1 September) and will roll out across 18 select stores. Customers will receive the ‘Little Treat’ voucher after spending £50, £100 and £250.
The rewards programme will reset monthly, allowing customers to acquire multiple rewards over the year.
Nathan Ansell, Chief Customer Officer for Waitrose said: “We’re continually investing in and evolving our My Waitrose loyalty club for the benefit of our members. ‘Little Treats’ is a way to regularly remind our growing number of loyal customers just how much we value them.

“It could be something delicious, something useful or something that makes them smile. Over the course of a year they could receive many treats, and I hope each one reminds them that being a My Waitrose member means they’re part of a special club of food lovers.”
The move is part of the retailer’s strategy to continue growing its active members, as part of the My Waitrose loyalty scheme.
Last year Waitrose grew its loyalty card members by 7% to 4.6 million and continues to double down on expanding the programme.
In June the retailer connected its loyalty card scheme to Uber Eats.

I spend over £50 every month but in small denominations which means I would miss out and also uber eats don’t deliver where I live. would be nice if the computer software would remember how much I spend and once I’ve reach £50 I could claim my reward.

rather than a “little treat” I’d prefer money off offers around the store on a daily basis, much like the nectar card or club card from Sainsbury’s and tescos
A scheme to help pensioners who can’t spend so much money in one go would be helpful.

All you fellas complaining that you’ll need to spend £50 in one go haven’t looked at the Ts & Cs. It can be split across as many shopping trips as you like.

Waitrose is an expensive shop compared to Sainsbury or Tesco.
The quality of the produce, especially vegetables and Avocados should be beyond reproach and yet I had to throw away one avocado each time I have bought a pack of 2.
I have been a Waitrose member fora very long time. We used to get a free newspaper and a cup of hot drink whenever we shop. Waitrose stopped giving us free newspaper and yet continue to increase prices on most items.
Not value for money. Alas I am ,80 and this is the nearest shop for me

Waitrose is not as expensive as people assume.It wipes the floor with M&S and Ocado.Bargains to be had at Jhn Lewis’s too.
Presumably the £50 shop is all in one go and does not accrue over a week or so? If not then the elderly are penalised as we do regular daily shops up to £20 a time as we cannot easily manage large bags of shopping.

Little treats sounds great but when you are a single elderly person I dont often spend £50 in a single shop but Iam a regular Waitrose customer so I and many others will miss out.

Little treats how nice. But those of us who are not shopping for 2 or a family, will as usual not get these treats . This is due to much smaller shops which will be under the £50 per shop minimum to qualify. Us solo’s miss out yet Again.

I am a senior and my bills never reach £50.
Does that mean Waitrose do not want seniors as customers because they don’t spend to their liking?
