Spray oil brand Frylight is rolling out a complete rebrand and packaging refresh across its range, with the new look set to hit supermarket shelves from mid-July.

The shake-up aims to modernise the brand’s appearance and increase shopper engagement, with bold colours, playful front-of-pack illustrations and clearer usage instructions designed to make the range easier to shop.

Frylight said the refresh reflects a shift in consumer attitudes towards healthy cooking, focusing on balance and enjoyment rather than restriction.

Saputo Dairy UK Frylight senior brand manager Al Flynn added: “With the rebrand, we wanted to make the Frylight range easier for consumers to shop and bring real energy back to the oils category, which is purchased in a very habitual way.

“Spray oils currently account for just 1.7% of total oil volume, so we see a real opportunity to bring a challenger mindset to the category, shifting consumer behaviour from pouring to spraying.”

“With our new vibrant and modern packaging, we want to strengthen our appeal to new shoppers, showcasing that healthy cooking doesn’t have to mean bland or boring, while continuing to deliver the convenience and trust that consumers have come to expect from Frylight over the years. We want to reassert Frylight’s place at the heart of delicious, modern cooking!”

Alongside its core Sunflower, Rapeseed, Olive and Garlic Infused spray oils, Frylight’s Buttery Baking spray oil (previously known as Butter Flavour Cooking Spray) has been repositioned to better reflect its main use in home baking.

The brand’s Air Fryer Pure Oil Spray, which launched earlier this year, will also sit within the refreshed range and is said to be attracting incremental shoppers into both Frylight and the wider oils category.

The rebrand includes improved back-of-pack information and a QR code linking to recipe ideas, encouraging customers to explore different ways of cooking with Frylight. For retailers, it said the clearer packaging would help shelf navigation and support multi-SKU purchasing.

“This is just one step in our journey,” Flynn added. “As part of Saputo Dairy UK’s wider sustainability goals, we’re actively exploring further packaging light-weighting and other initiatives to continue reducing our environmental impact.”

Last December, Frylight reduced its bottle weight by 9% cutting an estimated 20 tonnes of plastic from its supply chain annually, equivalent to around 900,000 fewer bottles produced each year. Flynn said the lightweighting was phased in alongside the new packaging design to minimise waste.
