Morrisons poaches BP exec as new group marketing director
Morrisons has poached BP vice president for mobility and convenience Europe Claire Farrant to be its new group marketing director.
Set to start on 3 June, Farrant is to work closely with incoming group data and media director Matt McLellan, who was previously recruited to join the supermarket chain from Asda.
Farrant’s appointment follows almost two years at the British multinational oil and gas company, as CMO/VP mobility and convenience Europe.

Prior to this, Farrant spent over 18 years in senior roles in the UK grocery sector, including over eight years as marketing director of Lidl UK and almost a decade in high-profile roles at Tesco.
Morrisons CEO Rami Baitiéh said: “Claire has an outstanding record in UK grocery and her deep experience, clear customer focus, and proven strategic marketing skills will make her a valuable new addition to our senior team.”
Farrant’s has been appointed to replace Rachel Eyre, who has left Morrisons for a new role as chief customer officer at Asda.
Baitiéh added: “I would also like to thank Rachel for her contribution to Morrisons over several years and wish her the very best for the future.”
