Iceland launches dumbell baskets for customers to train while they shop
Iceland has debuted gym-inspired trolleys and baskets to allow customers to train while they shop.
The frozen food retailer has launched a ‘first-of-its-kind’ dumbbell shopping basket, weighing 15kg, and a sled trolley weighing 25kg.
The heavy pieces of shopping equipment were designed to coincide with the launch of the new exclusive protein 15-product range from Myprotein.

Earlier this month, the protein brand launched a new line at the supermarket, with products including Chicken & Beef Burrito Bowl, Chinese Banquet and BBQ Chicken & Chorizo Lasagne, starting from £3.00.
Iceland chief commercial officer Paul Dhaliwal said: “It’s time for that ‘new year, new you’ mantra. In all honesty though, most people don’t have the time or just simply don’t like going to the gym.
“Therefore, we have incorporated the gym workout into the weekly shop and listening to shopper feedback, it’s something that could change the way we shop forever.”
