Aldi is cutting the prices of over 100 products by an average of 35% just in time for Christmas Day celebrations.

From today (24 December) lower prices will roll out across chocolate, mince pies and snacks, as well as stocking fillers and sweet treats.

Among the reduced items are some of the discount grocer’s own-brand Specially Selected products, such as a Yule Log, Millionaire’s Bauble, Mince Pies (six pack), Ruby Port Fig and Cheese Puff Pastry Mince Pies (four pack), Premium Stollen, Semi Freddo Wreath and Pandoro.

Branded products such as a Cadbury Medium Selection Box has dropped in price by 26p to 99p, while Dairyfine Chocolate Parker The Penguin has been lowered in price by 50p to 49p and a Dominion Candy Cane Lolly is now 25p, down from 49p.

Aldi UK managing director of buying Julie Ashfield said: “We stand by our promise to keep our prices as low as possible for customers and what better time to cut prices than just before the festive season.

“Our goal is to ensure products are made accessible to everyone, which is why we continue to see shoppers switch to Aldi.”

It comes as last week, Aldi also slashed the prices of Christmas dinner vegetable staples, including 1kg of carrots, 500g parsnips, 500g Brussels sprouts, 2kg white potatoes, red and white cabbages, and broccoli to just 8p each.
