M&S has renewed its partnership with in-store execution software provider Retail Insight for another three years, continuing its commitment to reduce food waste.

The collaboration, which began in 2021, makes use of Retail Insight’s AI-powered solution to put dynamic markdowns in place, effectively reducing waste while supporting sell-through in the upmarket retailer’s stores.

The retailer’s sustainability efforts are guided by its Plan A programme, launched in 2007 and reset in 2021 with new goals, including becoming net zero across all operations by 2040.
